SPRigWP is a new innovation in continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) with unbonded post-tensioning, produced in precast modules. This innovative product is developed by PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk (WSBP).

During the installation process of SPRigWP, there are openings and gaps, including gaps beneath the panel, gaps between panels, and dowel activator holes. These openings and gaps need to be closed using grouting materials.

However, before commencing the grouting work for SPRigWP panels, several tools and materials need to be prepared.

1. Material Sealing

Sealing is used to close gaps around the panel before grouting injection to prevent material leakage. It comprises two materials are cement (with or without sand) and water.

2. Mortar Grout

Mortar grout consists of a blend of Portland cement, fine aggregates (passing through sieve No.8), with or without fly ash, which the specifications according to SNI 2460:2014, and water, with the maximum water-cement ratio is 0.45, adhering to slump characteristics, slumpand the minimum required strength is 10 MPa at the specified age.

3. Cement Grout

Non-shrinkage cementitious material with a minimum compressive strength of 50 MPa at the specified age.

4. Air Compressor, Gun, and Blower

It is used to clean the grouting panel area (bottom of the panel, dowel holes, inlets, gaps between panels, etc.) to ensure cleanliness, dryness, and freedom from dust and mud. The air compressor is used for cleaning the panel's bottom, while the blower is used to clean gaps between panels and holes of grouting.

5. Mixing Paddle/Mini Concrete Mixer

A grout mixer or colloid mixer capable of operating at various rotation speeds, from 800 rpm to 2000 rpm, and capable of thoroughly mixing approved components.

6. Injection Machine, Pressure Pump, and Hose

A pump equipped with a pressure gauge (not exceeding 8 kg/cm2 or 0.78 MPa or 7.5 bar) must be capable of injecting grouting fluid into the grout holes and gaps. The injection pump should continuously pump at a minimum rate of 5.7 liters per minute.

7. Angle Grinder

It is used to level uneven surfaces and create grooves or paths.

8. Hand Drill

It is used for drilling dead-end grouting injection holes and dowel holes.

9. Trowel and Building Trowel

It is used for sealing (closing gaps between SPRigWP panels and the base floor) and for smoothing the surface area of SPRigWP after grouting.

10. Concrete Mixing Bucket or Tub

It is used as a container according to capacity needs.

11. Digital Scale

Equipment used to accurately measure the volume or weight proportions of various grouting materials.

12. Stopwatch and Flow Cone

The stopwatch and flow cone must adhere to the dimensions and requirements in SNI 03-6808-2002.

13. Positive Cut-Off Valve

The discharge line should be equipped with a positive cut-off valve at the nozzle's end and a bypass return line for grout circulation back to the storage tank or mixing tool.
